CARMEL, IND.
- June 28, 2009 - Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies today announced that,
working in consort with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Indianapolis, employees
from its Carmel, Castleton and Indianapolis facilities will build a home for
a deserving family this summer. The company itself will continue to pay the
employees while they are working on the project.
"It
is especially important, during these most difficult times for many, that
companies such as Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies step forward to help
those that are less fortunate and provide needed community support,"
emphasizes Tim Eckersley, president of Commercial America's Ingersoll Rand
Security Technologies. "We are extremely pleased to invest in such a
project and know that all employees engaging in building this home will also
enjoy the rewards of helping others."
According
to Eckersley, the company has six goals in mind for participating in the local
Habitat for Humanity build. They include providing needed community support,
making available employee opportunities to support local charities, enabling
community and organizational leadership, building teams across organization
functions and facilities, recognizing employees that lead and support the
community, and demonstrating corporate citizenship.
Employees
have already been introduced to the family, a young mother with two small
children. The volunteers, including the homeowner, will begin the panel build,
creating the walls of the home, in the back parking lot of the Carmel facilities
June 29. The actual home build will begin July 6 on Cornell Avenue in Indianapolis
with a complete date scheduled for August 13. The home dedication will be
held a week later, August 20.
Core team
members are Scott Perry (Carmel), Mike Sales (Carmel), Becky Cerda (Carmel),
Terri Eagler (Indianapolis) and executive sponsor Eckersley (Carmel).
