CARMEL, IND.
- August 23, 2010 - Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies today announced that
Community North Hospital in Indianapolis has recently installed eleven Schlage
L-Series anti-ligature knobs on doors to patient assessment rooms and restrooms
in the facility's psychiatric pavilion, along with LCN closers and Ives hinges.
The L-Series anti-ligature trim provides a natural grip, is simple to use
and, most importantly, includes minimal gaps and rounded edges to impede apparent
attachment points.
"When
we were renovating our psychiatric pavilion, it was imperative that we install
an anti-ligature door solution," reports Charles Purdy, director, General
Support Services for Community North Hospital. "The L-Series meets all
of our expectations and we would certainly use this anti-ligature product
again for other hospital renovations."
"The
decision to use the new anti-ligature knob came together very quickly between
architect Carl Johnson of BSA LifeStructures, the distributor, and Purdy's
team," relates Richard Dye, Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies territory
manager. "We were able to ship the locks quickly to meet their construction
schedule. The eleven locks were installed with no issues and have performed
as expected."
The new anti-ligature trim satisfies a growing need within healthcare and detention facilities where safety is a top priority. Available in a wide variety of L-Series lock functions, the Schlage anti-ligature trim is specifically designed for these unique applications where preventing patient self harm is of the utmost importance.
