New Schlage CO-Series Standalone Electronic Locks -
Convenient Offline Access Control

To Be Showcased at ALOA - Booth # 1101

CARMEL, IND. - August 4, 2010 - Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies today announced that its new line of Schlage CO-Series standalone locks, which provide enhanced security and efficiency, will be unveiled at the ALOA Conference, August 1-8, in Booth #1101. The CO-Series offers a variety of options, allowing locksmiths and facility management to customize the right solution for a facility. Keypad only, proximity, magnetic stripe and dual credential plus PIN options are available. The innovative key-in-lever design also lets users leverage existing master key systems. Users can control where people go and when by setting up access rights and schedules in a central database which gets transferred to the locks using Schlage Utility Software with a handheld device. With some versions, audit trails can provide visibility as to who accessed a door and when.

"The new CO-Series can be used in a variety of applications for convenient offline access control including schools, healthcare facilities, industrial plants, commercial buildings, retail outlets, multi-family properties and more," explains Karen Keating, Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies, Schlage electronic locking portfolio marketing manager. "Designed to suite with the most popular Schlage mechanical options, the CO-Series locks are available in manual and computer programmable configurations."

There are three models in the new line. The CO-100 offline lock is manually programmable, an ideal solution for customers ready to upgrade from mechanical keys to personal ID codes (PIN) for added security. The CO-200 is computer programmable. User rights are stored on the lock and can easily be added or deleted at any time. It also provides an audit trail and is available with a choice of five credential readers - 12-button keypad, magnetic stripe, magnetic stripe plus PIN, proximity and proximity plus PIN. The proximity options are compatible with major brands of 125 kHz proximity credentials.

The CO-250 lock includes all features of the CO-200 except that it stores user rights directly on a magnetic stripe credential. An economic solution for campus-based environments and large numbers of users, the CO-250 provides dynamic rights management on the card without reprogramming each lock.

The mechanical components of the new CO-Series locks are based on the field-tested design of Schlage ND and L Series locks, both known for uncompromising security and outstanding structural strength and durability. With cylindrical, mortise and mortise deadlock chasses available, users can create the right solution for any application. Tested to the highest quality and reliability standards, the new CO-Series locks are ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 certified and UL294 listed.

The key-in lever design of the CO-Series locks accepts many popular models of SFIC and FSIC cylinders, making it easy for the new locks to integrate with existing master key systems. In addition, the CO-Series locks leverage an open platform, providing users with more choices and freedom from propriety technologies. The CO-Series locks are also compatible with leading brands of exit trim, including those from Von Duprin, Falcon, Sargent, Precision 21, Yale, Corbin Russwin and Dorma. They are backwards compatible with existing Schlage and Locknetics products. A wide variety of finish and lever options are also available.

The new offline locks are powered by four AA off-the-shelf batteries and provide two years of operation with a normal 36,500 cycles per year.

Additional information on CO-Series locks will be available later this month on www.schlage.com.
