CARMEL, IN
- June 16, 2010 - Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies, a leading global provider
of security and safety solutions and manufacturer of Schlage contactless smart
credentials and readers, and idOnDemand, pioneers in smart identification,
are partnering to offer a joint solution that consolidates a user's identity
across the enterprise. This solution provides customers with the ability to
migrate to credentials that can satisfy both physical access control (building)
and logical access control (computer network), through a cloud based model,
using a single, multipurpose corporate badge.
For the first
time, small to medium sized businesses will be able to take advantage of standards-based
security across the enterprise without the business risk of creating a complex
infrastructure or experiencing upfront capital costs. Paired with Schlage's
pioneering multi-technology readers, customers can obtain a robust credential
that allows seamless transition away from legacy technologies to higher security
open standards that are compatible with recent U.S. government initiatives
such as FIPS 201.
"The
partnership with idOnDemand enables true convergence of building and IT assets,
providing users with a single globally-trusted identity for buildings, computers
and the cloud," reports John Menzel, director of business development
for Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies. "This partnership helps provide
the convergence solutions that our customers are requesting."
"Ingersoll
Rand Security Technologies shares a similar vision of making secure identity
solutions more accessible and simple to deploy and manage," affirms Jason
Hart, chief executive officer of idOnDemand. "Our customers are asking
for solutions that enable convergence and upgrading to the latest physical
security systems. With the Schlage solution, this is now possible."
