New Falcon MA Series Mortise Locks Provide
Grade 1 Operation and Security

Institutions, K-12, Colleges, Hotels, Multi-Family, Storerooms

CARMEL, IND. - April 13, 2010 - Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies today announced that its new upgraded Falcon MA Series mortise locks set new standards for applications in a range of industries including institutions, office, healthcare, education, and multi-family. The MA Series locks supersede the popular Falcon M Series locks during the second quarter of 2010. The MA Series provides ANSI/BHMA A156.13-2005 Series 1000, Grade 1 Operational and Grade 1 Security with standard trims and conventional cylinders making it one of Falcon's toughest, most dependable locks.

"The new Falcon MA Series locks provide the same finish and trim styles as its predecessor with an increased number of ANSI functions," affirms Marli Williams, Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies product manager. "However, dealers and users will find new attributes such as easier re-handing, stainless steel deadbolt and two-piece anti-friction latchbolt, environmentally friendly plated lock case and non-handed strike."

With the new Falcon MA Series locks, re-handing is accomplished without opening the mortise chassis. Installers simply remove a set-screw and, then, remove, rotate and reinstall the latchbolt and set screw in the case. Two screws are also moved to the other side of the case.
