CARMEL, IND. - March
9, 2010 - Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies today announced that it is
committed to providing the latest electronic security solutions to meet customers'
needs.
"Based
upon voice of customer input/research and utilizing the latest in technology
and product designs, we have developed a new electronic security platform
which is an upgrade to our existing legacy electronic products, which have
been manufactured primarily in Forestville, Conn.," attests Steve Down,
Vice President of Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies, Product Management.
"Since we will transition those legacy electronic products to the new
adaptable (AD-Series) and Core (CO) electronic locks throughout 2010, we have
also announced the closing of our Forestville facility over the same time
frame.
"Unfortunately,
because of this announcement, some have concluded that we are no longer going
to be supporting electronic locking systems," Down adds. "Nothing
could be further from the truth as our new AD-Series has been heralded by
customers as the most innovative new electronic security access control solution
in years. Our sales bear this out."
The AD-Series
from Schlage was released at the end of 2009. The new AD-Series products replace
the legacy line of Schlage Computed Managed (CM), Campus Lock (CL) wireless
(WA) and VIP electronic security offerings. Later this year, Schlage will
release the Core (CO) Series offline electronic locks.
In addition,
Schlage is revitalizing its MagLocks and Power Supply products to better serve
the changing needs of the marketplace.
"As
we continue to focus on innovative designs and technology to better serve
our customers, they can rest assured that electronic security will be the
integral part of our global strategy," affirms Down.
