Schlage Teams Up with Mercury Security to Deliver More
Cost Effective Wireless Access Control Solutions

Single Panel Manages Up to 64 Wireless Access Control Devices

CARMEL, IND. - February 17, 2010 - Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies today announced that its Schlage wireless panel interface module (PIM) now seamlessly integrates to Mercury Security access control panels via RS485, eliminating the need for wireless gateway modules. By leveraging RSI protocol, a single Mercury Security access control panel can manage up to 64 Schlage wireless devices and is not limited to a specific number of PIMs. These include the new modular designed AD-Series, which lets users change credential technologies or networking capabilities without removing the lock from the door. The solution is also backwards compatible with the popular WA-Series network locks, exit trims and portable readers.

"By eliminating the requirement of installing a wireless gateway between the access control panel and the PIM, we are reducing the cost per door of wireless access control solutions to all of our partners who install Mercury Security and Schlage wireless access control systems," emphasizes Frank Gasztonyi CEO/CTO Mercury Security. "This is yet another example of how we are working to help our partners bring more value to the market with the versatility of our open controller platform. Mercury is an avid supporter of the growing market demand to include wireless locking hardware in access control systems and we look forward to partnering with Schlage on this innovative solution."

"Not only will users of this Schlage/Mercury Security solution gain high efficiency and scalability by using the new AD-Series platform, they will have more access control options with this solution," explains Rick White, Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies general manager, Schlage electronics. "As their access control requirements change, whether increasing the number of wireless access control devices or changing credentials, customers will have greater flexibility to adapt and grow their system to meet their future needs."

Customers with existing Mercury Security access control panel installations can obtain this additional value with Schlage wireless devices by simply upgrading the firmware on their panel.

The capability of Schlage wireless PIMs directly interfacing with partner access control panels will be showcased at ISC West in Las Vegas March 24-26 at Booth #20041.
