CARMEL, IND.
- November 4, 2009 - Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies today announced
that The CBORD Group, Inc., is helping colleges and universities protect their
one-card access control investments by seamlessly integrating its campus ID
card systems with Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies' new AD-Series from
Schlage security platform. The modular design of the new AD-Series security
platform lets higher education users customize door openings by credential
reader, networking, finish and levers. Yet, without replacing the lock or
even taking it off the door, they can upgrade readers and network modules
to change credentials or go from an offline to networked solution.
Additionally,
the platform is built on an open architecture platform, allowing for seamless
integration with CBORD® solutions for campus ID systems. By combining
these products, CBORD is providing campus administrators with flexible, adaptable
and scalable security solutions they can tailor to their campuses today while
being able to enhance their one-card solution in the future as needs and industry
technologies evolve.
"Components
that have been traditionally located around the door are now integrated into
the lock itself to yield a smarter solution and more value for the investment,"
reports Cindy McCall, Vice President, Marketing, The CBORD Group, Inc. "Few
campus administrators can predict their electronic access needs years in the
future. This new AD-Series platform allows customers to plan for today and
be ready for the future, taking advantage of innovative technologies as they
emerge."
"From
classrooms to sports complexes, labs, residence halls, common areas and beyond,
the new AD-Series from Schlage security platform were designed with the understanding
that no two campuses or their security applications are the same," explains
Beverly Vigue, Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies vice president, education
markets. "While protecting people in their facilities is higher education's
most important security priority, CBORD's solutions for campus ID systems
in conjunction with the AD-Series electronic locks also protect the college's
access control investment. The modular design of the new AD-Series security
platform makes it easy to add more locks or upgrade credentials, networking
options or software without replacing the locks. In the future, such upgrades
can be as easy as changing a module from a mag to a smart card."
