CARMEL, IND. - January 12,
2009 - Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies today announced that Falcon Door
Hardware customers can now install the most cost-effective solution for automating
entrances at assisted living communities, low traffic storefronts, restaurants,
multi-family residences, offices and other commercial outlets. For those commercial
applications that have been wanting a quality automatic operator that combines
a value price point with a small footprint, minimal installation time and elegant
design, the new Falcon 8200 Series Automatic Operator provides a complete "in
the box" response.
"With its lower cost,
reduced complexity and faster installation process, the new Falcon 8200 Series
lets locksmiths provide whole new classes of customers with a door operator
solution that they can finally afford," explains Shane Crook, Ingersoll
Rand Security Technologies marketing manager for Falcon. "Combining quick
installation and low price, these new customers can at long last deploy an entry
level ADA solution. In fact, many customers will now be able to afford putting
automatic operators on internal doors as well as their front doors."
The Falcon 8200 Series is
designed and programmed for commercial use. Instead of having a myriad of adjustments
to make, this new automatic operator keeps things simple for locksmiths and
their customers. Features are integrated, minimizing the time needed to program
the Falcon Series 8200.
Everything needed to install
the Falcon 8200 Series Automatic Operator is packed in the box. With fewer screws
and parts than previous operators, expensive and time-consuming installations
are eliminated. The one piece, mounting bracket removes the need for end caps
and contains fastening notches, reducing parts and labor. The single length
header reduces order complexities and the intelligent control box includes adjustable
features providing the most precise door operation for all commercial applications.
The metal-stamped 1-piece aluminum finished cover provides an aesthetic solution
for any application. LED light illumination on the control box signals accurate
installation and helps with connection diagnostics.
The new Falcon 8200 Series
Automatic Operators also provide the features that facility managers and architects
desire. Especially important for assisted living applications, the SmartLatch
integrated intelligent power boost overcomes external pressure conditions with
a graduated energy boost for secure latching. In addition, the intelligence
in the control box will detect obstructions in the door path and temporarily
reprogram the opening degree of the door to avoid abuse to the door itself.
A selectable Push 'n' Go
feature allows the door to open automatically as soon as it feels pressure.
The Falcon Series 8200's non-handed gearbox uses mechanical controls to act
as a size 3 door closer when in manual operation.
The Falcon 8200 Series Automatic
Operators are available now through all traditional distribution channels.
