CARMEL, IND. - May 7, 2008
- Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies today announced that its new D Series
deadbolt locks, from Falcon, will secure virtually any commercial door. Fitted
with interchangeable cores or conventional cylinders, the locks can be adapted
to most manufacturers' key systems. With an improved strike and deep-drawn dust
box assembly, jamb strength is dramatically improved. An integrated anti-pry
shield behind the cylinder assembly provides added security and holds the lock
in place, freeing the installer's hands during installation. With an adjustable
backset, one product can be used for 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" backset. An
integrated trim design yields fewer components out of the box, again improving
installation time.
"Our D Series deadbolt
lock is not only the toughest but the most flexible deadbolt ever in the Falcon
line", attests Marli Williams, product manager for Falcon Lock. "Not
only is it extremely secure and very easy to install but it is designed and
backed by Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies, which is noted for its high
quality and reliability in locking solutions and access control."
The new D Series highlights
a series of security features. A heavy-duty bolt with a free-turning hardened
steel pin in the center creates a saw-resistant feature, adding protection.
Use of the strike box ensures added space for the deadbolt to throw and creates
true deadlocking. A third screw in the strike box provides deep anchoring while
the tapered and free turning cylinder ring resists wrenching.
For easier installation,
the Falcon D Series accepts small format interchangeable cores (SFIC) and conventional
cylinders. The lockset also incorporates an ADA compliant thumbturn.
The D Series from Falcon
is available in Grade 1 or Grade 2 configurations in up to eleven different
functions and five finishes. The product is available now.
