FORESTVILLE, CONN. - August 4, 2004 - IR Security & Safety's Electronic Access Control Division (EACD) today introduced its new Schlage aesthetic modular locks, which offer both the sleek architectural design and complete security functionalities that image-conscious organizations demand. Schlage now offers these aesthetically enhanced modular electronic locksets in both cylindrical and mortise designs.
"No longer do you need to sacrifice aesthetics for high security," emphasizes Jeff Koziol, EACD marketing director for software-managed locking systems. "CM modular locksets from Schlage offer superior architectural appeal, while providing robust access control. These unique locks are installer and operator friendly and are available with a variety of credential readers that allow users to select the card most appropriate for them."
CM modular locks work with presently-installed magnetic stripe cards or HID proximity cards and keyfobs, eliminating the need to issue a second set of credentials to utilize with the new locksets.
The Schlage CM5200 and CM5600 platforms are designed to be suited with Schlage D-Series cylindrical and L-Series mortise mechanical locks, providing a pleasing appearance facility wide. All Schlage designs are available in matching lever and architectural finishes and are also suited with Von Duprin exit device trim.
These new locksets are designed for new construction or retrofit applications. Upgrading from an existing mechanical cylindrical or mortise lock is quick and easy. The CM modular locksets are powered by four standard "AA" batteries, which provide greater than two years of battery life. A low battery warning alert is built into the lockset.
The aesthetically pleasing locksets offer many of the features of a network access control system at a fraction of the cost. All access points are managed by LockLink or LockLink Express software or the company's own access system. Each lockset maintains up to 1,000 users and stores the last 1,000 events. Locks can be programmed to provide momentary access, one-time or "VIP" access, or to limit the hours and days a user can access assigned doors or restrict access during holidays, shutdowns or vacations. Other features include auto locking and relocking, and "first person in" facility unlocking.
"This new family of Schlage architecturally-enhanced modular locks offer a high security, flexible access control system that doesn't compromise aesthetics, is easy to install, operate and maintain, and best of all, is affordable," Koziol concludes.
