Terry Anderson, Engage Technologies, Wins Harley Motorcycle in IR Security & Safety – ADI “Secure-A-Door” Promo

FORESTVILLE, CONN./Melville, NY – April 9, 2004 – IR Security & Safety’s Electronic Access Control Division (EACD) and ADI today announced the winner of their joint “Secure-A-Door” promotion. Although Terry Anderson, president of Engage Technologies, Inc. flew into Las Vegas to attend the ISC West Exposition, he now has the option of returning to his home in Tampa, Fla. riding a brand new 2004 Harley-Davidson V-Rod motorcycle. Doug Wright, vice president of IR Security & Safety, Electronic Access Control Division, and Tom Polson, president of ADI, presented the prized Harley to Anderson after an awards presentation held on April 1 at 1:00 pm in the Sands Convention Center.

“This is so ironic,” exclaims Anderson. “For about seven years, I’ve been planning to buy a motorcycle but never got around to it. But, this year, I had made up my mind to do so and had literally set plans to test drive a motorcycle the day after I was contacted that I had won the ‘Secure-A-Door’ promotion. I want to thank both ADI and IR Security & Safety very much.”

The “Secure-A-Door” contest was an exclusive promotion for ADI’s dealers in conjunction with IR Security & Safety that covered all IR products from Locknetics, Von Duprin, Recognition Systems, Schlage, LCN and Kryptonite. Dealers received a point for each dollar spent on IR products between October 1, 2003, through March 12, 2004. Certain products, such as the new MagForce 40 and 70 Series magnetic locks, Cobra electronic locks, Recognition Systems biometric HandKey II hand geometry readers, Von Duprin 5100 strikes, LCN 1071 closers and complete door locking systems produced bonus points. For every 10,000 points accumulated, a dealer was given a chance for the final drawing.

“This worked out very nicely for us as we’ve been doing a project here in Tampa for a Salvation Army distribution facility that requires 90 HandKey II’s,” reports Anderson. “This is one of the biggest installations of biometric access control readers under one roof in the nation.”

According to Anderson, he started his business as A.F.C. Systems in 1979. In 2001, he bought Foreline Security, which had 66 employees. He united the two into Engage Technologies, Inc. that year. Today, Engage Technologies provides complete security solutions for banks, the military, parking garages, ATMs, vehicle ID, upscale master plan communities and resorts throughout the entire nation. The firm employs 110 people. Website is www.engagetech.net. Phone number is 813-885-6615.
