New IR Security & Safety 650 Series Heavy Duty Keyswitch Features Magnetic Spring Design

FORESTVILLE, CONN. – November 20, 2002 – IR Security & Safety’s Electronic Access Control Division (EACD) today introduced a new Locknetics heavy-duty keyswitch series, which allows installers to configure both clockwise and counterclockwise key turn direction as well as momentary or maintained action in seconds. The new 650 Series features an innovation magnetic spring design. When the magnets are configured to attract, the switch provides a maintained action. When the magnets are configured to repel, the switch provides a momentary action.
“The new keyswitch series provides multiple benefits to our installer and distributor customers,” explains IR Security & Safety Director of Software Managed Products Jeff Koziol. “Instead of having to buy a variety of options, the installer can field configure the basic keyswitch for a variety of application requirements. The stocking distributor no longer has to inventory a large amount of end-item SKU’s to achieve product breadth. Additionally, 650 series keyswitch prices have been reduced 25 to 35 percent from prior models.”
Models include either SPDT maintained or momentary single direction, either DPDT maintained or momentary single direction, 2 DPDT maintained bi-direction, DPDT momentary x DPDT momentary, 2 DPDT momentary bi-direction, SPDT maintained x key remove one position, 2 SPDT maintained bi-direction, SPDT maintained x SPDT momentary, DPDT maintained x key remove one position, and 2 SPDT momentary bi-direction.
Both single gang and narrow stiles are available with a choice of heavy-duty plate, weather resistant cover, green/red LED lights, anti-tamper switch and Schlage Everest cylinder. In addition to the standard satin chrome finish, users can also select bright chrome, satin bronze, oil rubbed bronze, bright brass, white powder coat and black powder coat.
The new 650 Series heavy-duty keyswitch is available now, list-priced between $115 to $175, depending on options.
