Locknetics New TouchBar Exit Bar Immediately Releases Electromagnetic Locks
FORESTVILLE, CONN. - February 18, 2002 - Locknetics Security Engineering, the electronic locking systems component of Ingersoll-Rand's (IR) Security & Safety Group's Electronic Access Control Division (EACD), today announced that its new 672 REX TouchBar, a non-latching exit bar, needs only a ¼-inch movement to release an electromagnetic lock or signal access control and alarm systems for a request to exit.
The pushpad of the new TouchBar is available in a choice of red, green or whi te "PUSH TO EXIT" letters. An optional upgrade to a lighted version is especially attractive. When the pushbar is not depressed, the letters are backlit in red but, when depressed, they change to green.
The new TouchBar's low profile increases available space to pass through a door and makes the TouchBar more resistant to damage and wear. Ramped, heavy-duty, cast metal end caps deflect blows and provide maximum durability. The 672 REX is available in lengths of 36, 42 and 48 inches or special factory-cut lengths. It is also available in three different architectural finishes including clear anodized satin aluminum and dark bronze powder.
The 672 REX TouchBar features heavy-duty, quick-install brackets and an easy-to-cut extrusion for easy installation and fast field modifications. The new exit bar has a standard SPDT switch and optional DPDT switch, which allows the release of an electromagnetic lock and an auxiliary device, such as a horn or light, to be activated to signal egress. The new unit, including SPDT switch lists for a most competitive $195.
The new 672 REX TouchBar exit bar is available through dealers and locksmiths now.
