PALMDALE, CALIF.
- April 7, 2010 - Delta Scientific, the leading manufacturer of counter-terrorist
vehicle control systems used in the United States and internationally, today
announced its new extended line of designer bollards lets an organization's
first line of security accent and enhance the facility's architecture. Virtually
unlimited in styles and aesthetics, safety consultants can specify having ornamental
steel trim attached directly to the bollard or select cast aluminum, iron or
bronze to slip over the crash tube. If damaged, one simply slides off the old
sleeve and slips on a new one. The designer bollards are available in stainless
steel, cast stone, ceramics and epoxy based stones. They can be fitted with
an internal warning light for increased visibility and engineered to suit high
traffic volumes.
"You'll
see Delta designer bollards in front of the U.S. Department of State headquarters
in Washington, D.C.," affirms David Dickinson, senior vice president of
Delta Scientific. "Extremely popular, they are used in locations from Paris
to Berlin and beyond. Our extension of this line now gives users many more choices."
The decorative
bollards come in six different series - traditional, silhouette, sculptured,
omni, lineas and architect. Three levels of protection all meet or exceed U.S.
Department of Defense and Department of State certifications. They hold the
highest ratings ever given to bollard systems.
The DSC800
is certified at K4, L2, able to stop and 16,000 pound (6,800 kg) vehicle at
30 mph (50 kph). The DSC650 is certified ASTM PU50 ,P2, able to stop a 5,070
pound (2,300 kg) pick-up truck going 50 mph (80 kph). The DSC500 is rated K12
and will stop a 15,000 pound (6,800 kg) vehicle at 50 mph (80k kph).
