4 Different Seals
Created - State Seal plus One for Each Branch
PALMDALE, CALIF. - August
8, 2007 - Delta Scientific, the leading manufacturer of counter-terrorist vehicle
control systems used in the United States and internationally, today announced
that it has completed the installation of four highly customized seals that
have been added to the tops of Delta's DSC720 bollards that protect California's
state capitol facilities in Sacramento from truck bomb attacks. The four seals
include the Great Seal of the State of California, the Governor's Seal, the
Assembly Seal and the Senate Seal.
"These four intricate
seals and the DSC720 bollards they enhance are proof-positive of the architectural
integrity that decorative bollards can provide to a security application,"
emphasized Delta Scientific Senior Vice President David Dickinson. "Not
only do they protect State Capitol employees, visitors and tourists from the
threat of truck bombers but they absolutely add to the beauty of the State Capitol
grounds."
The seals were custom made
by Delta for the State of California using a combination of laser stereo lithography
in tandem with rapid prototyping resin molds and hand-sculpted clay to enhance
their elaborate detail. They were then placed on top of Delta decorative DSC720
bollards that were already installed at the entrances to Capitol facilities.
The DSC720 is Delta's highest
crash rated bollard tested with a 15,000 lb vehicle at 50 mph. This K12 bollard
will stop and destroy much larger vehicles than those tested at very high velocities.
It can be a hydraulic, pneumatic, manual operation or fixed post bollard. Besides
the California State Capitol, applications include Federal and DOD facilities,
embassies and other high profile, high-risk locations. The DSC720 bollard's
height is 35 inches and its diameter is 12.75 to 13.25 inches. Its speed of
operation can be adjusted from 3 to 10 seconds. Bollard arrays of 1 to 6 or
more can be packaged.
Delta builds seven broad
classes of counter terrorist vehicle barricade systems, including beam barricades,
wedge barricades, bollards, sliding gates, shallow foundation high security
barricades, surface mounted barricades and portable barricades.
