VALENCIA, CALIF. - June
1, 2005 - Delta Scientific, the leading manufacturer of counter-terrorist vehicle
control systems used in the United States and internationally, today announced
that the company will be making headlines on KFWB (News 980 AM), Los Angeles'
first all-news radio station, on Thursday, June 2. The company principals will
be interviewed Thursday morning and excerpts are expected throughout the day.
"Delta Scientific bollards and barriers are recognized worldwide as an
effective solution for protecting both people and property," emphasizes
Delta Scientific Senior Vice President David Dickinson. "It's very gratifying
to be recognized by our local news media as a key player in the effort to provide
homeland security and to prevent tragic terrorist acts around the globe."
Since 1974, Delta Scientific has grown to become the world's leading manufacturer
of anti-terrorist and vehicle access control equipment. Delta barriers will
stop and destroy a truck weighing 18,000 pounds traveling 60 mph. The barricades
can be raised or lowered at will to stop traffic or let it through. In an emergency,
the thick steel plates or bollards pop out of the ground within a second.
Delta's world headquarters are located in Valencia, Calif. Since the assault
of 9-11, the company's production had more than doubled in its Valencia manufacturing
facilities.
Last year, Delta announced the grand opening of a second $8 million, 125,000-square-foot
manufacturing facility in Palmdale, Calif. At the same time, it celebrated a
$25 million order from the U.S. Air Force.
Delta Scientific systems protect the U.S. Capitol and other Washington landmark
buildings, high-rises throughout the world, Broadway pedestrians in New York
City, corporate facilities, the Singapore parliament, power and water infrastructure
locales, European castles and the private homes of celebrities and influential
people in Beverly Hills and other upscale communities.
The company has also supplied its counter-terrorist barricade systems to over
170 U.S. embassies and consulates in 130-plus countries as well as those of
other nations. In the United States alone, Delta has secured over 110 Federal
buildings, including courthouses and FBI locations. Over 85 percent of all U.S.
nuclear power plants are protected by Delta vehicle barricade systems.
