According to Jim Sutton, Section Chief for the Security Engineering Branch, and Facility Manager for the Diplomatic Security Training Center Technical Training Annex, "Our organization provides security systems training for newly-hired Security Engineering Officers, Security Technical Specialist, Agents, U. S. Navy Seabees and other security specialist throughout Department of State relating to security systems and hardware utilized abroad. Delta Scientific has been a wonderful resource and we are grateful for their help."
The barricades and bollards can be raised or lowered either manually or by remotely controlled precision power systems at will to stop traffic or let it through. Under emergency conditions, they can be raised in as little as a single second.
"We're also looking at using the Delta bollards in two other neighborhoods, where we are currently using planters with chains," says Perlstein. "Delta bollards are a much more attractive, practical alternative to the planters. They are also durable and protect the public right-of-way better."
