TWIN CITIES AIRPORT FEATURES 18 NEW DELTA BOOTHS
2 Heaters/Double Insulation
VALENCIA, CALIF. – January 12, 2000 – With a surge to hosting 3 million cars per year, the Minneapolis – St. Paul International Airport required 18 new parking/cashier booths to handle its doubled parking capacity of 13,000 spaces.
“We needed custom booths that would tie-in appearance-wise with our two new 9-level parking structures,” explains Greg Leean, Assistant Airport Director, Landside Operations, Metropolitan Airport Commission. “I had purchased Delta booths before and was very pleased that our vendor, Parking Equipment & Services (PES) works with them.”
To architecturally complement the new parking structure, the Delta booths feature rounded corners and custom paint design. To guard against the Minnesota winters, each booth features two heaters and double insulation. Glass is tinted to eliminate sun glare. The first phase of parking structures opened in October of 1999 and final completion is expected by July of 2000.
“Delta responded quickly,” reports Leean. “From spec to delivery, we received all booths in less than 90 days. Delta also sends personnel to the airport to take care of any last minute needs or touch-ups.”
Delta manufactures a variety of booth configurations, including standard
booths that provide protection from changing environments to those offering
facility security. Custom booths fit any landscape from French style
windows to custom exterior. Used in border stations, government buildings
and military bases, high security booths are bullet resistant and provide
